Privacy policy

Rha Skies is a personal site, run by the pilot who flies and writes for it. If you have a question about your data, email support@rhaskies.com.
What is collected
- If you join the newsletter or the “Hire me” waitlist: your email address, which list you joined, the form you used, the wording you agreed to and when, and (for the waitlist, only if you give it) your general area.
- To stop abuse of the signup form: a one-way code made from your IP address, kept for about a day. Your IP address itself is not stored by the site.
- If you create an account: your email address, the display name you choose, the comments you post, and when you signed up and last signed in. If you set a password, only a one-way scrambled version of it is kept, never the password itself.
- If you sign in with Google: Google tells the site your email address, your name and a link to your profile photo. Only the email address is used. Your name and photo are not shown anywhere: you choose your own display name. The site never sees your Google password.
- To stop abuse of the signup, sign-in and comment forms: a one-way code made from your IP address or email, kept for a short time.
- Nothing else: the site has no analytics and no advertising. The hosting service keeps brief technical logs of requests, as hosting services do, to keep the site running and secure.
Why
Only to run what you asked for: the newsletter, one email when bookings open, and your account and comments. Every newsletter email has an Unsubscribe link.
Who helps run the site
These services process data on the site's behalf:
- Supabase: the database where signups, accounts and comments are stored. Supabase's privacy policy (opens in a new tab)
- Google: only if you choose “Continue with Google”, to confirm who you are. Google's privacy policy (opens in a new tab)
- Resend: sends the emails. Resend's privacy policy (opens in a new tab)
- Vercel: hosts the website. Vercel's privacy policy (opens in a new tab)
- ImageKit: stores and delivers the published photos. ImageKit's privacy policy (opens in a new tab)
Each one only receives what it needs to do its part.
How long it's kept
Your account and comments are kept until you delete your account, which you can do yourself on your account page. That removes your comments too.
Newsletter and waitlist addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. After that, your address stays marked as unsubscribed so you aren't emailed again by mistake. To have it deleted completely, email support@rhaskies.com.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time from any email. To ask what is held about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, email support@rhaskies.com.
